The Lord loves the followers of righteousness

Proverbs 15:9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

Psalm 146:8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:

Paul strived for righteousness under the Old Covenant

Philippians 3:6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law (the Old Covenant), blameless.

And under the New Covenant

Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I (Paul) count all things but loss…that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ (the New Covenant), the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Righteousness in Christ

1Corinthians 1:30 But of Him you (“the church of God at Corinth” 1:2) are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God -- and righteousness and sanctification and redemption –

the churches of God in Christ

1 Thessalonians 2:14 For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus.

We may become the righteousness of God in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become [present active subjunctive] the righteousness of God in Him.

Righteousness concerns behavior and conduct

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he (Christ) is righteous.

A righteousness is found in commandments of the Lord.

Psalm 119:172 My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.

Scripture is given to reveal righteousness

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Righteousness is through obedience

Genesis 6:22; 7:1 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he. 7:1 Then the LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

Psalm 18:20-21 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. 21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

Isaiah 48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

Luke 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Obedience is not separated from living by faith

Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

righteous people live by faith

Romans 1:17 For therein (the gospel of Christ v.16) is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.

A righteous man leads a blameless life

Proverbs 20:7 The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him (NIV).

Proverbs 24:16 For a righteous manmay fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.

righteousness as a lifestyle is blessed

Psalm 106:3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Proverbs 10:6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

The desires and thoughts of the righteous are blessed

Proverbs 11:23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

Proverbs 12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

The Lord gives His full attention to the righteous

Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

Proverbs 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

he does not hide anything from the righteous

Proverbs 3:32 For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

Abraham’s righteousness made him a friend of God

Genesis 18:17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed [or considered] unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Its better to have “a little” with righteousness

Psalm 37:16-17 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.

Proverbs 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness, than great wealth with wrongdoing.

The lord provides for the righteous

Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Proverbs 10:3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

The righteous prosper

Proverbs 11:28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

Proverbs 12:12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

In trouble the lord strengthens the righteous

Psalm 37:39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

The Lord never suffers the righteous to be moved

Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Proverbs 10:30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

Proverbs 10:25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

Psalm 112:6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

Proverbs 12:3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

Proverbs 12:7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

The Lord delivers the righteous

Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Righteousness delivers

Proverbs 11:6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

Proverbs 11:8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

Ezekiel 14:14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

Righteousness delivers from death

Proverbs 10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Proverbs 11:4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Righteousness is associated with life

Proverbs 11:19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

Proverbs 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Proverbs 21:21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL JUSTIFY THE RIGHTEOUS

1 Kings 8:32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

The righteous shall be rewarded

Psalm 58:11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

Proverbs 11:18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

Proverbs 11:31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

Proverbs 13:21 Evil pursues sinners, But to the righteous, good shall be repaid.

Proverbs 15:6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

At the resurrection of the righteous

Luke 14:13-14 “But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,14 and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Matthew 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

A crown of righteousness

2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth [or in the future] there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Life in the age to come

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life age-lasting ~~eternal~~.

The city of righteousness

Isaiah 1:26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

Hope in death

Proverbs 14:32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

EVEN THE MEMORY OF THE RIGHTEOUS IS BLESSED

Proverbs 10:7 The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.

The righteous shall be glad in the Lord

Psalm 64:10 The righteous shall be glad [merry or joyful] in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
