A two-fold division of humanity

1 Corinthians 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles [those outside of covenant], nor to the church of God [those inside – in covenant]:

The church of God in Christ

1 Corinthians 1:2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:

Many churches of God in Christ

1 Thessalonians 2:14 For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus.

Those who are outside

Mark 4:11 And He said to them, "To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables,

Those inside the church are the focus

1 Corinthians 5:12-13 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.” (NIV)

Paul’s love was for those in Christ

1 Corinthians 16:24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Paul’s goal toward those in Christ

Colossians 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus

How to behave toward those outside

Colossians 4:5 Walk [church members] in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

1 Timothy 3:7 Moreover he [leaders in the church] must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

1 Thessalonians 4:12 that you [inside the church] may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing

Outside Christ as opposed to in Christ

Ephesians 2:11 For this reason keep it in mind that in the past you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are looked on as being outside the circumcision by those who have circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands; (BBE)

Ephesians 2:12 remember you were in those days outside Christ, aliens to the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the Promise, devoid of hope and God within the world. (Moffat)

Ephesians 2:13 But [in contrast] now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

A new beginning in Christ

1 Corinthians 4:14-15 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. 15For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Through the gospel message

Acts 18:1,4-5,8 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. 5 And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. 8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

In Christ you have been enriched in every way

1 Corinthians 1:5 For in him you have been enriched in every way-- in all your speaking and in all your knowledge—

Redemption in Him

Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

God in Christ forgave you

Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.

The righteousness of God in Him

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Justification in Christ

Galatians 2:17 "But if, while seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves have also been found sinners, is Christ then a minister of sin? May it never be!

Approval in Christ

Romans 16:10 Salute Apelles approved in Christ. Salute them which are of Aristobulus' household.

No condemnation to them which are in Christ

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Alive to God in Christ

Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A new creature

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

A way of life

1 Corinthians 4:17 For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church. (NIV)

The faith in Christ

Acts 24:24-25 And after some days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. 25 Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, "Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you."

Sons of God by faith in Christ

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Suffering persecution in Christ

2 Timothy 3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

God always causes us to triump in Christ

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

Rejoice in the Lord always

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

No created thing will separate us from the love of God in Christ

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The peace of God in Christ

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Gentiles are fellow partakers of the promise in Christ

Ephesians 3:5-6 which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; 6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel (NAS)

We are the true circumcision in Christ

Philippians 3:3 For we are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh.

Abraham’s blessing is our blessing in Christ

Galatians 3:14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

To inherit the world

Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

In Christ we are Abraham’s desendants

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

In Christ we have an inheritance

Ephesians 1:11 In whom [in Christ] also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

The promise of life in Christ

2 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus

Age-lasting life in Christ

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is ~~eternal life~~ age-lasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Preserved in Jesus Christ

Jude 1:1 Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:

Sleep in Jesus

1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Life after death in Christ at His coming

1 Corinthians 15:22-23 For as in Adam all die [return to dust], even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming.

The dead in Christ will rise first

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

The Salvation in Christ

2 Timothy 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with ~~eternal~~ age-lasting glory.

Age-lasting glory in Christ

1 Peter 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his ~~eternal~~ age-lasting glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

The dead are blessed if they die in the Lord

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

The prize of the high calling in Christ

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Your labour is not in vain in the Lord

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Chosen in Christ to be blessed

Ephesians 1:1-4 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

The grace of God given to you in Christ

1 Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,

Be stong in it

2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus

Stand fast in the Lord

Philippians 4:1 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

Abide in Him to avoid shame at His coming

1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

In Christ we are given the earnest of the Spirit

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

A holy calling in Christ

2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began
