10 THINGS THAT CAN BRING SHAME TO YOUR NAME

April 12, 2009

SHAME -1 A painful sensation excited by a consciousness of guilt, or of having done something which injures reputation; or by of that which nature or modesty prompts us to conceal.

Shame is particularly excited by the disclosure of actions which, in the view of men, are mean and degrading. Hence it is often or always manifested by a downcast look or by blushes, called confusion of face.

2. The cause or reason of shame; that which brings reproach, and degrades a person in the estimation of others.

3. Reproach; ignominy; derision (a laughing stock); contempt, dishonor; disgrace.

GOOD REPUTATION IS IMPORTANT

EXAMPLE OF SHAME

Numbers 12:11  And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. 14 And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
