Noah – Saved into a new world

In the day when the Son of Man is revealed
Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and [Matt. 24:39 - KNEW NOT UNTIL] the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
Abundance of Bread but lack of knowledge
Rev. 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and KNOWEST NOT that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Not living by bread alone
Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Not labouring for bread alone
John 6:27 LABOUR not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting [agelasting] life
Not hungering for Bread alone
Mat. 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
You have tasted it, now crave for it
1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire [long for] the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
Godliness is through the knowledge of Him
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
They lived for the moment's pleasure
Genesis 25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright [given in the end] do to me? 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright [Hope].
Hope has to wait
Romans 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Sin of Sodom – Self-Love & False Security
Ezekiel 16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy [no love for others].
Self-Love leads to Sensuality & False Security leads to rebellion against God
Jude 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
When Moses returned after a delay
Exodus 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot [know] not what is become of him. 6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. 7 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: 8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
They are an example to the church
1 Corinthians 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
God warned of things yet not seen
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house...
God was patient
1 Peter 3:20 ...once the longsuffering of God WAITED in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing...
HE is not a Slack God
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack[tardy] concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Noah was just & perfect
Genesis 6:9 …Noah was a just man and perfectin his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Genesis 6:22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him,so did he.
Noah mixed faith with what he heard – He Prepared
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, PREPARED an ark to the saving of his house...
Few were saved because they were prepared
1 Pet. 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Noah's reward – Heir of a new world
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
