Blessed or Cursed: In The Age to Come

Bless : To pronounce a wish of happiness to one; to express a wish or desire of happiness.

Curse :To utter a wish of evil against one; to imprecate evil upon.

Created them and blessed them

Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Cursed because of sin & disobedience

Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Daniel 9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.

Blessings of God to the one who Obeys God

Deuteronomy 11:26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

This is the reason for Judgment

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil

Cursed because of wrong company

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications [companions] corrupt good manners.

Cursed for trusting in man

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

The source of evil

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of HIS OWN lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Overcome Satan's devices by knowledge

2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Responsible to be Sober & Vigilant

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, KNOWING that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Those rejecting the truth are in the snare of the devil

2 Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

In the age to come we will NOT suffer because of others sins

Deuteronomy 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

Blessed for suffering in this age

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Psalm 94:12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; 13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

Jesus comes with a Blessing and a Curse

Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting [age lasting correction in v.46] fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

The blessing defined

Romans 9:3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: 4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; 5 Whose are the fathers [Abraham, David...], and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Cursed Children

Matthew 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Blessed Children

1 Peter 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

Not all servants are Blessed

Matthew 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household [the blessing], to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Those who love not are cursed

1 Corinthians 16:22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema [cursed] Maranatha. 23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

He loved His enemies

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Are you nigh to be cursed?

Hebrews 6:7 For the earth [ones enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift v4] which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. 9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
