ADULTERY IS FORBIDDEN BY GOD
Exodus 20:1,14 And God spoke all these words, saying, 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. 
 
Adultery defined
Leviticus 20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife…”
 
Ezekiel 16:32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
 
ADULTERY WAS PUNISHED BY DEATH
Deuteronomy 22:22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.
 
ADULTERY COMMITTED IN THE HEART
Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh (present active) on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
 
God’s see’s the heart
1 Samuel 16:7 “…for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
 
Take it seriously
Matthew 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.   
 
ADULTERY WILL NOT GO UNPUNISHED
Proverbs 6:27-29 Can a man take fire in his bosom, And his clothes not be burned?   28 Or can a man walk on hot coals, And his feet not be scorched? 29 So is the one who goes in to his neighbor’s wife (adultery); Whoever touches her will not go unpunished.
 
Adultery defiles the marriage bed
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
 
GOD MADE MARRIAGE PERMENANT
Genesis 2:22-24 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.   24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
 
ONLY DEATH ENDS MARRIAGE
Romans 7:2-3For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
 
1 Corinthians 7:39 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
 
JESUS TEACHES DIVORCE IS NOT AN OPTION
Matthew 19:3-6 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, (no same sex marriages) 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder(or let not man separate,” NKJ).
 
ALL RE-MARRIAGE AFTER DIVORCE IS ADULTERY
Mark 10:11-12 And he (Jesus) saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. 12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
 
DIVORCE PROMOTES ADULTERY
Luke 16:18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
 
Is it better not to marry?
Matthew 19:10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
 
Adulterers do not inherit the kingdom of God
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, …shall inherit the kingdom of God.
 
Eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake
Matthew 19:11 But He said to them, "All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given: 12 "For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it."
 
DIVORCE IS SOURCED IN A HARD HEART
Matthew 19:7-8 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
 
FROM THE BEGINNING
Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
 
LET NO MAN SEPERATE
Matthew 19:6 Wherefore they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man seperate.
 
“The exceptional clause”
Matthew 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
 
Matthew 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
 
Mary was found pregnant in betrothal
Matthew 1:18-19 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together (during the betrothal period and before sexual union has occurred), she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
 
Jesus was accused of being born of fornication
John 8:19,41 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father?…41 Then they said to Him, "We were not born of fornication (as you Jesus); we have one Father -- God."
 
Joseph a just man was “to put her away”
Matthew 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man,and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
 
if seperated – Remain unmarried or be reconciled
 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
 
Love suffers long
Hosea 3:1,3 The Lord said to me, “Go, show love to your wife again, even though she loves another man and continually commits adultery. Likewise, the Lord loves the Israelites although they turn to other gods and love to offer raisin cakes to idols.” 3 Then I told her, “You must live with me many days; you must not commit adultery or have sexual intercourse with another man, and I also will wait for you.”
